Terms of service

The agreement, in plain words.

These terms apply to every project SiteByPiece takes on. They are written to be read, not to hide anything.

Last updated February 2026

01What we agree to do

SiteByPiece designs and builds the website described in your project plan. The project plan lists every page and feature included, the order they will be built, and the price.

Anything not written in the project plan is not part of the project. If you want something added, we write it up and price it before any work begins.

02The design fee

Projects open with a $25 design fee. It covers reviewing your intake and writing your project plan. It is separate from the package price and is not applied toward it.

03What we need from you

We need your content: text, photos, logo, and any accounts we have to connect. Projects stall when content is missing, and a stalled project pushes back the timeline for everyone.

You confirm that any text, images, or logos you send are yours to use.

04Revisions

Each package includes a set number of revision rounds, listed on the packages page. A round means one consolidated set of changes, not an unlimited stream of individual requests.

Additional rounds beyond what your package includes are quoted before they are done.

05Ownership

Once your project is paid in full, the website is yours. That includes the files, the content, and the design.

Your domain and hosting accounts are registered in your name from the start, so you always control them, even during a build.

06Third party costs

Domain registration, hosting, business email, and any paid third party tools are billed to you directly by those providers. Those costs are never included in a package price and are described on the pricing pages.

07Timelines

Estimated timelines assume content is provided and feedback comes back within a few days. Delays on either side move the finish date.

On Build As You Pay projects, work on the next piece begins after the matching payment clears.

08Ending a project

Either side can end a project. You keep everything that has been paid for and completed. Anything unpaid and unbuilt simply does not get built.

Refunds are covered on the refund policy page.

09Limits

We build the website. We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic numbers, or sales results, because no one honestly can.

We are not responsible for outages, price changes, or policy changes at third party providers such as hosts, registrars, or payment processors.

10Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the version in effect for your project is the one posted when your project plan was written.
