Questions about switching from a DIY builder
- Is SiteByPiece really cheaper than Squarespace or GoDaddy?
- It depends on how long you keep the site. A DIY builder is a monthly subscription that never ends — over two or three years the subscription alone often exceeds the one-time price of a SiteByPiece package, and our packages start at $220 regular or $195 paid in full. The optional annual maintenance plan is $100 per year after launch.
- Do I own my SiteByPiece website?
- Your domain, hosting, and business email are bought in your own name from those providers, so they stay yours no matter what. Your website is built for your business rather than rented as a template slot.
- I already started a Squarespace or GoDaddy site. Can you rebuild it?
- Yes. Many clients come to us after trying a DIY builder. We rebuild the site properly, and your existing content and photos can usually carry over into your intake.
- Do I have to pay for the whole website upfront?
- No. You can pay in full at the lower price, or use Build As You Pay and purchase your website in pieces at your own pace. There is no credit check and it is not a loan.
- Who writes the content and handles the setup?
- We do the design and build. You answer a guided intake about your business, and we turn your answers into your pages. Optional copywriting add-ons are available if you want us to write more of it.
